The Rian Paad Yod Pim Lek is unquestionably one of them.

After several years, we are delighted to once again have the privilege of presenting this exceptional medallion.. A batch of medallion that has long been recognized as one of the most important and sought-after medallions created by Luang Pu Tohk.

Created in 2516 B.E. (1973 A.D.), the series was produced in two principal mould sizes:

1. Pim Yai (Large Mould)
2. Pim Lek (Small Mould)

A total of 4 materials variants were made:

1. SOLID GOLD – Only 50 pieces made in the world
2. SILVER – Only 500 pieces made in the world
3. NAWALOHA – Only 1,000 pieces made in the world
4. COPPER – Only 5,000 pieces made in the world

The featured specimen belongs to the highly desirable Pim Lek (Small Mould) variant, made in Silver.

With only 500 pieces produced, it represents the second rarest material of the entire issue, surpassed only by the elusive Solid Gold variant.. Examples of which have become highly prized among established collectors and today command values well into six figures in Singapore’s currency.

Even the Silver variant seldom appears on the open market.

To encounter one preserved in truly outstanding original condition is considerably rare..

The moment this medallion came into our hands, one characteristic immediately distinguished it from the vast majority of examples we have encountered over the decades.

The condition of the medallion..

Every important detail remains extremely distinctive and remarkably crisp. The portrait retains exceptional definition, while the surrounding relief and inscriptions exhibit virtually none of the wear commonly associated with medallions of this age.

In our opinion, it is one of the finest Silver examples we have had the privilege of handling.

Perhaps even more captivating is the extraordinary surface character developed over more than five decades.

Collectors affectionately refer to this phenomenon as “Piu Fai” (Fire Skin).. A naturally occurring iridescent patina formed through decades of gentle oxidation. Under changing light, the surface reveals iridescent hues, creating an appearance that is both unmistakable and impossible to artificially reproduce.

Among experienced collectors, such naturally matured surfaces are regarded as one of the strongest indicators of originality.

Unlike polished, cleaned, or restored medallions, untouched examples continue to develop this beautiful patina over time, preserving the unique character that only decades of careful stewardship can produce.

It is this remarkable combination of rarity, originality, and preservation that elevates the featured specimen into an entirely different class.
