BEAUTIFUL AND ORIGINAL CONDITION!
ONE OF THE TOP 5 BUDDHA IMAGE MEDALLIONS OF THAILAND!
EXTREMELY RARE SILVER MATERIAL “PIM HAR TAEW” VARIANT!

This is a truly exceptional piece and one that stands firmly among the most important Buddha image medallions ever produced in Thailand.

For seasoned collectors, no introduction is necessary.

For the uninitiated, however, this medallion may appear deceptively simple. Yet beneath its humble appearance lies a piece of immense historical significance, rarity, and collector prestige. What we showcase today is one of the celebrated “Benjapakee Rian Phra Phut”.. The elite group widely recognised as the Top Five Buddha Image Medallions of Thailand.

Known as the Rian Phra Phutta Chinnaraj Roon Rek (1st Issue), this iconic medallion was created in B.E. 2460 (1917 A.D.), making it well over a century old. Throughout generations, it has remained one of the most sought-after and respected Buddha image medallions in the entire Thai amulet industry.

The importance of this issue extends far beyond its age.

This historic batch was blessed during an exceptionally grand consecration ceremony attended by many highly revered monks of the era and, most notably, presided over by two of the greatest monastic masters Thailand has ever produced:

β€’ Luang Pu Suk of Wat Pak Klong Makam Thao, Chainat
β€’ Luang Por Ngern of Wat Bang Klan, Phichit

These two legendary monks occupy an almost unrivalled position within Thai Buddhist history. Their influence transcends generations, and amulets confirmed to have been blessed by either master are among the most coveted pieces in the entire market. Examples associated with these revered monks routinely command prices reaching into the millions of baht, reflecting their immense rarity, historical significance, and enduring collector demand.

The Rian Phra Phutta Chinnaraj Roon Rek was produced in several material variants:

β€’ Solid Gold
β€’ Silver
β€’ Copper

Among these, the Solid Gold variant represents the pinnacle of rarity and desirability, with notable examples commanding values exceeding 10,000,000 Baht.

The featured specimen is crafted in Silver, widely regarded as the second most desirable material variant after Solid Gold. However, its significance does not end there.

This particular medallion also features the highly sought-after “Har Taew” (Five Lines) reverse design.

The term Har Taew literally translates to “Five Lines”, referring to the five lines of inscription found on the reverse of the medallion:

“Ti Ra Ruek”
“Ti Ma Nai Ngan”
“Na Ma Sa Kahn Phra Phutta”
“Chinnaraj, Mueang”
“Phitsanulok”

Together, the inscription commemorates those who attended the sacred event honouring Phra Buddha Chinnaraj, the revered Buddha image of Phitsanulok.

From a collector’s perspective, the Har Taew variant is significantly more elusive and highly appreciated due to its rarity and historical appeal.

Perhaps most impressive of all is the condition of this particular specimen.

Silver is naturally one of the softer precious metals and is highly susceptible to wear, friction, and loss of detail over time. To encounter a silver medallion produced more than one hundred years ago that still retains clear definition throughout the image of Phra Buddha Chinnaraj is extraordinary.

The surfaces have matured gracefully through the passage of time, developing the beautiful character and natural ageing while preserving the details of the medallion.

In our opinion, this is a magnificent example of one of Thailand’s most important Buddha image medallions.

Historically significant, highly sought after, and difficult to acquire in such beautiful original condition, the Rian Phra Phutta Chinnaraj Roon Rek Har Taew Silver Variant remains a true cornerstone piece for advanced collectors and connoisseurs alike.

A remarkable treasure from a bygone era.. One that continues to captivate collectors more than a century after its creation.
