The piece we present today is another remarkable acquisition that we are truly delighted to share with everyone.

Some amulets require little introduction, and this is undoubtedly one of them.

The Phra Luang Pu Thuad “Lang Nang Sue” issue is widely regarded as one of the most iconic and influential amulet batches ever produced in Thailand. More than sixty years after its creation, it continues to enjoy immense popularity among collectors, devotees, and newcomers alike.

The featured specimen is particularly special.

Its preservation is simply exceptional, displaying a beautifully matured original texture that catches the light effortlessly from every angle. For an amulet created more than six decades ago, examples preserved to this standard are becoming increasingly uncommon.

Officially known as Phra Luang Pu Thuad Lang Nang Sue, the name literally translates to “Luang Pu Thuad with Sacred Writings on the Rear.” This historic issue was created in B.E. 2505 (1962 A.D.) and consecrated during a grand three-day blessing ceremony presided over by Ajahn Tim.

The sacred inscription found on the reverse is the revered Katha of Luang Pu Thuad, reading:

“Na Mo Poh Ti Sa To
A Kahn Ti Ma Ya
Yi It Pa Ka Wa”

This sacred invocation has long been associated with Luang Pu Thuad and remains one of the defining characteristics of this celebrated issue.

The Lang Nang Sue batch was produced in two principal mould sizes:

Pim Yai (Large Mould)

Pim Lek (Small Mould)

Each mould was subsequently divided into numerous sub-variants, with total production exceeding one hundred thousand pieces. Despite this seemingly substantial production, many individual variants are considerably scarcer than others and have become highly desirable among advanced collectors.

The featured specimen belongs to one of the most sought-after Pim Lek variants, known among collectors as “Pim Lek Wor Chut.”

Its name derives from a distinctive raised dot found on the Thai letter “ว” (Wor) within the reverse inscription.. A subtle yet highly important identifying characteristic that has long been recognised by experienced collectors.

The history of Luang Pu Thuad himself requires little explanation.

More than four centuries after his lifetime, his name remains synonymous with Thai Buddhism and the Thai amulet world. Even individuals with little or no knowledge of amulets will almost certainly recognise the name Luang Pu Thuad.. A testament to the extraordinary influence and enduring legacy of this revered monk.

Throughout generations, Luang Pu Thuad amulets have become especially renowned for their association with protection during travel and in times of danger. Numerous accounts and personal experiences have contributed to this longstanding reputation, making his amulets among the most widely worn throughout Thailand across all walks of life.

Among Thai devotees, there is a well-known saying:

“Undertakers rarely encounter victims of serious accidents wearing a Luang Pu Thuad amulet.”

While understood as an expression of traditional belief rather than historical proof, the saying beautifully illustrates the immense faith generations of devotees have placed in Luang Pu Thuad’s compassionate protection.

Whether admired for its historical importance, artistic appeal, or deep cultural significance, the B.E. 2505 Lang Nang Sue remains one of the definitive Luang Pu Thuad issues and an essential cornerstone within any serious collection.

With its outstanding state of preservation, highly desirable Pim Lek Wor Chut variant, and unmistakable original texture, this beautiful specimen represents exactly the type of example discerning collectors aspire to acquire.

A timeless classic that continues to define the legacy of Luang Pu Thuad more than sixty years after its creation.

INCLUSIVE OF A CUSTOM MADE SOLID GOLD FRAMING!
