This particular amulet features the image of the Medicine Buddha, also known as the Phra Kring amulet..
In Buddhism, the Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaisajyaguru, is the Buddha of healing and medicine. Commonly referred to as the “Medicine Buddha”, he is described as a doctor who cures dukkha, which is Pali for suffering, using the medicine of his teachings.
Made in celebration to commemorate Luang Por Kasem’s 60th Pangsa as a monk.
The word “Pangsa” also known as “Vassa” is the three-month annual retreat observed by Theravada Buddhism practitioners. It takes place during the wet season for 3 months, usually from July to October. It is highly observed to be a very important part of Buddhism and it is representation of “one year” of being a monk.
For the duration of Vassa, monks must remain in one place, typically a monastery or temple grounds. In some monasteries, monks dedicate the Vassa to intensive meditation. In Thailand, the first and last days of Vassa, known as “Khao Pangsa” and “Wan Ok Pangsa”.
The Vassa tradition predates the time of Lord Buddha. It was a long-standing custom for mendicant ascetics in India not to travel during the rainy season as they may unintentionally harm crops, insects or even themselves during their travels.
There were a total of 3 different material variants made:

3. NAWALOHA – Only 2,999 pieces made in the world
