Known as “Rian Jorm Surin” and it was designed by one of the TOP ARTIST OF THAILAND, “Chang Kasem Mongkhon Chareon”. It was made for the sole purpose of expressing gratitude to the devotees and many individuals that took part in the fund raising ceremony for the construction of the Buddha Statue, known as “Jorm Surin Phra Phut Pra Cham Chang Wat Surin”, which translates to “Jorm Surin Buddha Image – The Permanent Buddha of Surin’s Province”. It is known as the Protector of the entire province of Surin.

It was blessed in an elaborate and very grand ceremony which was attended by numerous great teachers and meditation masters of the Thai Forest Tradition of the 20th century, of which most, if not all were students of student of Ajahn Mun Bhuridatta. The consecration ceremony was presided by Luang Pu Doon of Wat Buraparam, Surin.
