The image of Luang Por Sothorn is one of the most revered Buddha Images in the entire country of Thailand. History of the image dates back to centuries ago in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. It is one of the Buddha Images that survived the invasion of the Burmese and was found to be floating down the Ping River, one of the two main tributaries of the Chao Phraya River.
This particular piece is blessed in a mass consecrated Grand Ceremony in Year 2536 B.E. on two different occasions and in two of the most iconic temples of Thailand: Wat Rakang Kositaram and Wat Sothorn Woraram Worawihan!
