VERY RARE 1ST ISSUE MEDALLION OF LUANG POR SODH!
This featured medallion is the 1st Issue Medallion to be blessed by Luang Por Sodh of Wat Pak Nam!
One of the primary reasons why this batch of medallions are so popular and sought after by collectors all over the world is due to the fact that it was blessed by one of the most respected Holy Monks of Thailand, Luang Por Sodh.
Luang Pu Sodh was the abbot of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen from 1916 until his death in 1959. He founded the Thai Dhammakāya school in the early 20th century. As the former abbot of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, he is often called Luang Pu Wat Pak Nam, meaning “the Venerable Father of Wat Pak Nam”. He became a well-known meditation master during the interbellum and the Second World War, and played a significant role in developing Thai Buddhism during that period. He is considered by the Dhammakaya tradition to have rediscovered Wicha Dhammakaya, a meditation method believed to have been used by the Buddha himself.
A total of two batches of medallions were made in Luang Por Sodh’s lifetime:
Roon Rek (1st Batch) – Year 2500 B.E.
Tawai Pak Tak Han – Year 2501 B.E.
