What is featured here is the absolute cream of the crop for any discerning collectors when a Rian (Medallion) is concerned.

This featured medallion is known as Rian Roon Rek (1st Issue Medallion) by Luang Por Daeng of Wat Khao Ban Dai It of the Phetburi province. 

Luang Por Daeng is without a doubt, known as the Holy Father of Phetburi. Widely revered and respected by devotees all over the world! Many amazing miracles of Luang Por Daeng were recorded throughout his lifetime, but one stands out greatly as it concerns the locals of the Phetburi Province: 

An epidemic of disastrous proportion occurred in approximately Year 2479. Cattle and buffalo belonging to the local farmers started dying one by one and the amount of livestock that perished were alarming the locals with their livelihood threatened greatly. There were no possible cures in sight and many locals were desperate for assistance.

Realizing the plight of many farmers, Luang Por Daeng consecrated Yantra inscripted cloth about the size of a handkerchief and instructed the farmers to plant it along with a stalk of bamboo near the vicinity of their cowshed. It soon occurred to the farmers that those with the Yantra inscripted cloth by Luang Por Daeng was not affected by the epidemic. Luang Por Daeng’s fame spread far and wide with devotees from different provinces flocking to the temple to pay their respect to Luang Por Daeng.

In Year 2502, Luang Por Daeng received the honorable status and Sangha Title of ‘Pra Kru Yana Wilad’ and received the Royal Phad Yod fan in ceremonial recognition of his status. This was a great reason to celebrate for the disciples of Luang Por Daeng.

Hence, the creation of the 1st Issue Medallion featured here. It was also made to commemorate Luang Por Daeng’s 82nd Year Old Birthday. Made in Year 2503 B.E. and consecrated in a grand ceremony!

The condition of this stunning medallion is beyond conventional excellence with the overall texture immaculately preserved! An extremely uncommon trait as most pieces are damaged greatly after being worn for the past 60 years!

We cannot properly articulate how beautiful this medallion is and it can only be witnessed in person!
