This is a very, very special piece.. Notice the regal looking insignia at the back? Or you might find it familiar while walking the streets in Thailand?
That.. is known as “Por Por Ror”.. The Royal Insignia of King Rama IX, King Bhumibol Adulyadej.. One of the most beloved King of Thailand’s 200 plus years of monarchy under the Chakri Dynasty.
If you see any medallions featuring the image of a Holy Monk with the “Por Por Ror” Royal Insignia, it can only mean that this Holy Monk is one of the MOST RESPECTED by The King of Thailand himself.
King Rama IX do not just pay his respect to any monks in Thailand as there are millions of them. But he has a special committee to locate holy monks that are extremely well cultivated and has done great contribution to the society to recommend the King for his own private visits.
It is most well known among the Thais that Luang Por Kasem is the holy monk that King Rama IX visits the most in the entire Northern Thailand region. In fact, many of his visits are private visits without the King’s entourage..
That is a testament of Luang Por Kasem’s great cultivation and his great contribution to the country.
The creation of this featured medallion with the “Por Por Ror” Royal Insignia was spearheaded by none other than King Rama IX himself and the funds collected were donated to various charitable causes.
This featured piece is ONE OF LUANG POR KASEM’S TOP TIERED MEDALLION and it is extremely rare to have the opportunity to encounter a TOP TIERED SOLID GOLD VARIANT!
LESS THAN 200 OF SUCH PIECES WERE EVER MADE!
The condition is nothing short of SPECTACULAR! Absolutely no signs of wear and damage whatsoever!
In our decades of experience in this trade, we have only encountered less than 5 SOLID GOLD “Por Por Ror” medallions and 4 of them were NOT FOR SALE due to being kept as family heirlooms!
