Blessed by Luang Pu Tim of Wat Lahan Rai, Rayong. Without a doubt, one of the most famous holy monks of Thailand! His fame spreads far and wide beyond Thailand!
Made in Year 2518 B.E. and blessed in an extremely grand and extensive ceremony lasting 3 months, otherwise known as one “Trai Maad”, hence the name of the batch.
This iconic medallion features the image of Phra Nak Prok. It depicts a majestic image of Lord Buddha and Mucalinda, the King of Serpents, spreading its hood to shield Lord Buddha from the rain whilst Lord Buddha is in deep meditation.
It is one of the most iconic image of Buddhism. History of such an image dates back to more than 2,000 years ago!
Overall texture is IMMACULATELY PRESERVED with a reddish/pinkish/bluish and rainbow-ish hue found scattered throughout the entire surface of the medallion. Photos simply do not do this beautiful medallion justice! The magnificence of the medallion must be admired in person!
The rainbow-ish texture is commonly known as “Piu-Fai” in the community.Β Β It is a chemical reaction that occurs when the alloy and the chemicals on the surface of the medallion comes into contact with the atmospheric components in the air which results in an absolutely unique iridescent/rainbow texture.
It is a natural oxidation process that takes decades to occur, and a prime evidence for industry veterans to properly ascertain that it is in the most original condition without signs of wear, damage or any types of human intervention.
Medallions that are worn, damaged, washed or refurbished will not exhibit naturally occurred textures like the item featured today.
