There’s a saying among the locals in the province of Phuket:

“.. If you’ve never stepped into the temple grounds of Wat Chalong.. You’ve never been to Phuket..”

That is how sacred and important this temple is to the locals of Phuket and it is all because of the holy monk, Luang Por Chaem.. the NUMBER ONE holy monk of Phuket..

This featured medallion is known as “Rian Med Tang” or translated to “Melon Seed Medallion” referencing it’s petite size and the shape of the seed of a melon.

It is among one of the MOST POPULAR, IMPORTANT AND SOUGHT AFTER medallions to be distributed from Wat Chalong.

It must be made known that all of Luang Por Chaem’s amulets or medallions were made posthumously but this featured piece is as fantastic as it gets due to the great ensemble of holy monks present in this grand consecration ceremony and a miracle that has happened during the ceremony..

It is extremely notable that the miracle we mentioned was well documented by every single individual who attended the ceremony.

It was noted by the holy monks present that during their deep meditation during the consecration ceremony, Luang Por Chaem’s image was seen walking around, with a walking cane, around the ceremonial area and stirring the holy water that was to be used for the blessing of this batch of medallions..

This miracle was so significant that an “extra seat” was quickly arranged, by temple officials under the instructions of the holy monks, to be placed for “Luang Por Chaem” so that the consecration ceremony can continue as planned.

Which is why the locals of Phuket attribute that this medallion was the batch known to be “closest to Luang Por Chaem” in terms of efficacy hence making it extremely sought after!

The condition is nothing short of spectacular! For a medallion made of SILVER and ENAMEL to be so well preserved is an amazing feat to say the least! To have colored enamel on a medallion is beautiful but they are very fragile. Most pieces have one form of defect or another, that was sustained either during the manufacturing of the medallion or the handling of the medallion. In short, to chance upon a piece that is FLAWLESS, is something extraordinary!
