Perhaps one of the BEST contemporary Phra Somdej amulet in the last 50 odd years!

The Phra Somdej Yannawilat is among the most revered and meticulously crafted Phra Somdej of the 20th century. Its creation reflects not only deep devotion but also extraordinary effort spanning decades, involving thousands of monks, sacred relics, and rare materials gathered from across Thailand.

The heart of this amulet lies in its exceptional sacred powder, painstakingly accumulated over a period of more than 20 years. This rare powder was entrusted to Luang Por Daeng by Police Lieutenant Prasong Chemporn, who sought permission to craft the sacred object under Luang Por Daeng’s guidance.

For around the duration of 20 odd years, the powder was consecrated in more than 250 temples, with blessings performed by over 5,000 monks nationwide. After the sacred ingredients were finely ground and fully sanctified, the printing of the amulet was completed around 2511 B.E. (1968 A.D.).

It is most important to note that this batch of Phra Somdej amulets were further blessed by Luang Por Daeng for an additional 3 Pangsa.. The word “Pangsa” also known as “Vassa” is the three-month annual retreat observed by Theravada Buddhism practitioners. It takes place during the wet season for 3 months, usually from July to October. It is highly observed to be a very important part of Buddhism and it is representation of “one year” of being a monk.

Luang Por Daeng is without a doubt, known as the Holy Father of Phetburi. Widely revered and respected by devotees all over the world! Many amazing miracles of Luang Por Daeng were recorded throughout his lifetime, but a couple stands out greatly: 

An epidemic of disastrous proportion occurred in approximately Year 2479 B.E. (1936 A.D.). Cattle and buffalo belonging to the local farmers started dying one by one and the amount of livestock that perished were alarming the locals with their livelihood threatened greatly. There were no possible cures in sight and many locals were desperate for assistance.

Realizing the plight of many farmers, Luang Por Daeng consecrated Yantra inscripted cloth about the size of a handkerchief and instructed the farmers to plant it along with a stalk of bamboo near the vicinity of their cowshed. It soon occurred to the farmers that those with the Yantra inscripted cloth by Luang Por Daeng was not affected by the epidemic. Luang Por Daeng’s fame spread far and wide with devotees from different provinces flocking to the temple to pay their respect to Luang Por Daeng.

During Year 2487 B.E. (1944 A.D.), Phetchaburi faced a devastating war when the Japanese invaded Thailand, with bombs being dropped daily, destroying the train station, bridges, homes, and leading to the closure of schools. Civil servants were unable to work, and all government offices shut down. Remarkably, houses protected by Luang Por Daeng’s sacred cloth or coins were unharmed. Luang Por Daeng gained great fame, and by the end of World War II, his reputation for possessing powerful magic had spread far and wide.

In Year 2502, Luang Por Daeng received the honorable status and Sangha Title of ‘Pra Kru Yana Wilad’ and received the Royal Phad Yod fan in ceremonial recognition of his status. This was a great reason to celebrate for the disciples of Luang Por Daeng.
