EXCELLENT AND ORIGINAL CONDITION!
ONE OF THE TOP TIERED POWDER MADE AMULET IN THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY!

This is, without a doubt, one of the TOP TIERED powder made (Ner Phong) amulet and it is also one of the best known amulets among in the entire Thai Amulet Industry!

It was known as “Phra Phong Kong Kwan”, or translated to “Gift Powder Amulet”.
It was given for free to people who visited the temple, hence the name. But only a single piece can be given to an individual. No one can be tasked to receive on their behalf.

One of the primary reasons why Wat Pak Nam amulets are so immensely popular and sought after by everyone is due to the fact that it was blessed by one of the most respected Holy Monks of Thailand, Luang Por Sodh.

Luang Pu Sodh was the abbot of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen from 1916 until his death in 1959. He founded the Thai Dhammakāya school in the early 20th century. As the former abbot of Wat Pak Nam Phasi Charoen, he is often called Luang Pu Wat Pak Nam, meaning “the Venerable Father of Wat Pak Nam”. He became a well-known meditation master during the interbellum and the Second World War, and played a significant role in developing Thai Buddhism during that period. He is considered by the Dhammakaya tradition to have rediscovered Wicha Dhammakaya, a meditation method believed to have been used by the Buddha himself.

A total of two batches were made:
1st Batch – Year 2493 B.E.
3rd Batch – Year 2499 B.E.

Nope, you did not see any mistakes. No typo errors were made. There were no 2nd batch.

It is due to the immense popularity of the 1st Batch of amulets that there weren’t enough pieces to fully distribute to the rest of the devotees visiting the temple. So, the 2nd batch was made. It was made using the same material and the same mould as the 1st Batch thus it is near impossible to differentiate between the 2 batches. They were then subsequently consolidated into one batch.

Generally, there are two iconic difference in the 3rd Batch:

1. Deep Mould (Pim Lerk)
2. Shallow Mould (Pim Tern)

This featured variant is known as the SHALLOW MOULD variant.

An absolute collector’s item and its one of the most prominent amulets featured in:

Phra Ner Phong Yod Niyom (Most Popular Powder-Made Amulets) Category.
