Few amulets embody the perfect convergence of artistry, history, and spiritual heritage quite like the remarkable piece we present today.
Widely regarded as one of the defining Buddha image amulets of the Isaan (Northeastern) Provinces of Thailand, the Phra Kring Phutta Pareet has long been admired by collectors not only for its profound historical significance, but also for what many consider to be one of the most beautiful cast Buddha images ever produced in Thailand.
Its elegant proportions, graceful lines, and exquisite sculptural detail have earned this issue unanimous admiration among collectors and connoisseurs alike, firmly establishing it as one of the artistic masterpieces of modern Thai amulet history.
The creation of this important issue was itself an act of great merit.
The project was initiated by the Board of Surin Hospital, with the objective of raising funds for the construction and support of a dedicated medical facility serving monks requiring healthcare and medical treatment. The noble purpose behind its creation has only further enhanced the esteem in which this issue is held today.
Recognising the importance of the project, the responsibility for designing the amulet was entrusted to Chang Mongkhon Kasem Charoen, one of Thailand’s foremost Buddhist sculptors and artists of the era.
His creation has since become widely acknowledged as one of the finest artistic achievements of his distinguished career.
The consecration ceremony held in B.E. 2515 (1972 A.D.) was equally extraordinary.
A total of 108 of Thailand’s most revered monks gathered to participate in the blessing ceremony, presided over by Luang Pu Doon, one of the foremost masters of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya and a highly respected disciple within the lineage of Ajahn Mun Bhuridatta.
