The image of Luang Por Sothorn is one of the most revered Buddha Images in the entire country of Thailand. History of the image dates back to centuries ago in the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. It is one of the Buddha Images that survived the invasion of the Burmese and was found to be floating down the Ping River, one of the two main tributaries of the Chao Phraya River.
The Royal Insignia of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is prominently positioned on the seat of Luang Por Sothorn to signify that this is a “THAILAND’S ROYAL FAMILY BATCH” of amulets.
