One very important yet highly elusive attribute all proper collectors would want to achieve is for their treasured amulets to be the actual pieces featured in certain important and recognized books that are frequently referenced.
For a particular amulet to be featured in an important book is absolutely immense as it serves as an immediate reference for all present and future collectors alike! It is akin to being in a museum archive for an antique as it serves as an important documentation of the said amulet that was made decades ago!
This stunning piece showcased today is not only featured in ONE book. Neither was it featured in TWO books. It was actually featured in FOUR highly important reference books! To be featured in FOUR different books is nothing short of astounding!
The condition of this stunning item is nothing short of immaculate!
To understand this, we must first comprehend how was the item made 45 years ago.
Amulet as such, are casted using primitive casting methods that involved the pouring of molten alloy into casting mould which will then form the shape of the item. Due to the primitive nature of such casting methods, there are a lot of inconsistencies.
Air pressure which causes bubbling occurs during the casting process making many pieces having an uneven surface with even some items missing important details thus effectively rendering the item “damaged during the casting process”.
To find one piece as this item featured here, in such an immaculate condition, is of incomprehensible difficulty. Noticed the beautiful texture and highly distinctive features? It is a typical example of sheer luck with the right amount of molten silver being filled in the cast thus preventing bubbles from forming on the surface of the amulet!
Fun Fact: There is a group of *ultra-wealthy* individuals that are avid enthusiasts. They frequently organize their own by invitation only competition to showcase their collection of tip top quality amulets within their private club. And for Luang Por Kasem’s category, the Phra Kring Awalow is the only piece that is competed.
That is because when a Goddess of Mercy amulet is mentioned, Luang Por Kasem’s Phra Kring Awalow will always be the item that is remembered as it is the Top Tiered and Most Iconic Goddess of Mercy amulet made in the Thai Amulet industry!
