ONE OF THE TOP TIERED AMULET IN THE ENTIRE THAI AMULETS INDUSTRY!
NUMBER 1 VARIANT OF THE ENTIRE BENJAKEE CATEGORY FOR WAT KEAT CHAI YOH!
What we present today represents the absolute pinnacle of the Thai amulet world.
Known collectively as the Phra Benjapakee, these amulets occupy the highest echelon of Thai Buddhist amulet collecting and are universally recognised by experts, historians, and seasoned collectors as the definitive “Top Tier” category within the entire industry.
The term “Benjapakee” is derived from two words:
• “Benja” – meaning “five”
• “Pakee” – meaning “group” or “collection”
Together, the term translates to “The Five Great Amulets”.
The five legendary amulet categories recognised under the Phra Benjapakee classification are:
Phra Somdej
Recognised from three principal temples:
• Wat Rakang Kositaram, Bangkok
• Wat Mai Amataros Bangkhunphrom, Bangkok
• Wat Keat Chai Yoh, Ang Thong
Phra Phong Suphan – Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, Suphanburi
Phra Soom Kor – Wat Phra Borommathat, Kamphaeng Phet
Phra Nang Phaya – Wat Nang Phaya, Phitsanulok
Phra Rod – Wat Mahawan, Lamphun
Among these five legendary categories, the Phra Somdej stands as perhaps the most revered and iconic of all.
The featured specimen here belongs to one of the three highly recognised and top-tiered Wat Keat Chai Yoh Phra Somdej variants blessed by the legendary Somdej Phra Phutthachan Toh, the creator of the Phra Somdej amulet itself.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest monks in Thai history, Somdej Toh remains one of the most influential and deeply revered figures in Thai Buddhism. Born in Ayutthaya in B.E. 2331 and later formally bestowed the title Somdej Phra Buddhacarya (Toh Brahmaramsi), he was renowned for his profound mastery of Buddhist teachings, exceptional preaching abilities, and his close relationship with King Rama IV, whom he once served as preceptor and trusted advisor.
His Phra Somdej amulets have since become some of the most respected, desirable, and culturally significant Buddhist amulets ever created.
Out of the entire Wat Keat Chai Yoh lineage, only three variants are formally recognised to have been blessed by Somdej Toh himself:
Phra Somdej Pim Jaet Chan Niyom (7-Tiered Popular Variant)
Phra Somdej Pim Hok Chan Oak Tarn (6-Tiered Firm Chest Variant)
Phra Somdej Pim Hok Chan Oak Talod (6-Tiered Continuous Chest Variant)
The featured piece today is the legendary Phra Somdej Pim Jaet Chan Niyom (7-Tiered Popular Variant).. Universally recognised as the NUMBER 1 and most sought-after variant from the entire Wat Keat Chai Yoh lineage.
For countless collectors throughout Thailand and across the world, the Pim Jaet Chan Niyom represents the ultimate dream acquisition within the Wat Keat Chai Yoh category. Its prominence, desirability, and prestige place it firmly at the very summit of Phra Somdej collecting.
The condition of this specimen remains deeply impressive considering its age of well over 150 years.
Collectors familiar with Benjapakee-grade Phra Somdej amulets will immediately understand the immense difficulty in preserving such fragile powder-based amulets across generations. Due to their delicate composition and extreme age, the overwhelming majority of surviving examples today are found cracked, fragmented, or broken into multiple sections before restoration.
Complete and fully original unrepaired specimens are exceedingly rare and can command market values well exceeding SGD $100,000 (approximately 2.5 million baht), placing them beyond reach for the overwhelming majority of collectors worldwide.
This featured specimen is a restored example. However, unlike many heavily reconstructed pieces commonly encountered in the market, the restoration on this piece is limited only to a small section of the amulet.
More importantly, the restoration work was performed by one of the industry’s most respected and highly sought-after restoration artisans.. A specialist widely recognised for exceptional craftsmanship in restoring high-tier Phra Somdej amulets from Wat Rakang, Bangkhunphrom, and Wat Keat Chai Yoh.
The overall presentation remains exceptionally attractive, retaining strong aesthetic balance, visual harmony, and collector appeal.
Further elevating its stature, this particular piece was recognised with the Merit Award Winner at one of the largest and most prestigious amulet competitions held this year at the Chaeng Watthana Government Complex.
Within the Thai amulet world, this competition is widely regarded as one of the most respected and fiercely contested platforms in the industry. To receive formal recognition at such an event signifies that the amulet is far from an ordinary market specimen, but rather a piece acknowledged for its authenticity, quality, presentation, and overall collectibility.
A highly respectable and exceptionally collectible example of one of the greatest amulet categories ever created.
INCLUSIVE OF A CUSTOM MADE SOLID GOLD OPEN/CLOSE CASING!
