This featured piece is easily one of the most prominent and iconic Phra Kring amulet made in the Nakhon Pathom province over the last 50 years. It is also, in our own opinion, one of the most beautiful Phra Kring amulets to be made with its very distinctive and unique features as far as a Phra Kring amulet is concerned.

Blessed by Luang Por Ngern of Wat Don Yai Horm, Nakhon Pathom. He is known as the “God of Wat Don Yai Horm” by people all over the world!

This beautiful batch of Phra Kring amulets were made to celebrate and commemorate Luang Por Ngern’s 80th Year Old birthday.

Known as Phra Kring “Pan Tarm Leung Thong” and it is importantly to note that the word “Tarm Leung” refers to a unit of measurement for weight of objects, similarly to how we used “kilogram” to weigh our objects. It is widely used in ancient Thailand. The word “Pan” translates to “Thousands” and the word “Thong” translates to “SOLID GOLD”.

And when placed them together, the word “Pan Tarm Leung Thong” literally translates to thousands of kilograms of SOLID GOLD which is referring that the bearer of this very well consecrated amulet will be always blessed with much prosperity, fortune and wealth in their lives!

Which is why it is known as the “Great Fortune Phra Kring” amulet!

There were a total of 3 different materials being made:

1. SOLID GOLD
2. SILVER
3. NAWALOHA

This featured piece is made of SILVER and only approximately 2,000 pieces were made.

This condition of this piece amazing! Near flawless casted despite using primitive methods of casting more than 50 years ago!

SILVER is widely known to be extremely sensitive to the environment it is in. Any types of unwanted particles in the atmosphere is bound to cause the SILVER material to oxidize into a dull shade. Any forms of cleaning or refurbishment will also cause the SILVER material to lose the original texture that too decades to occur.

And in order to encounter a SILVER amulet made more than 50 years ago, still retaining it’s original shine with a natural patina glistering on the entire surface of the amulet is truly an uphill task!

Bear in mind, any forms sweat, dirt and grime will cause negative impact on the texture and yet after more than 5 decades, this featured piece is still amazingly pristine!

ONE OF LUANG POR NGERN’S TOP TIERED AMULET!

This stunning medallion featured here is known as Rian Roon Sorng, or translated to be the 2nd Issue Medallion.

Blessed for one “trai mard”, which refers to the 3 months meditation period during the rainy season known as the rain retreat.

The idea for the medallion to be distributed as the 2nd Issue Medallion commenced when a student of Luang Por Ngern, whom was also the Chief Physician of the Health Division of Bangkok’s Municipality. The doctor highly revered Luang Por Ngern and frequents Wat Don Yai Horm and Wat Bang Chang in the province of Nakhon Pathom.

Seeing how derelict Wat Bang Chang was at the time, he sought the assistance of Luang Por Ngern to raise funds via the distribution of the medallion in order to proceed with the reconstruction of Wat Bang Chang.

Luang Por Ngern, being one of the top monks of the era, especially in the province of Nakhon Pathom, resulted in the very high demand for his amulets. They were distributed approximately for 10 Baht each for a copper medallion back in Year 2497 B.E., and it did not take long before all the medallions were acquired by people all over the country.

Of all the amulets created by Luang Por Ngern, his medallions are always the most sought after among collectors all over the world.

Luang Por Ngern’s 1st Issue Medallion made in Year 2493 B.E. in a decent condition would fetch more than a million baht in today’s market. The next best alternative would be the 2nd Issue Medallion which is this beautiful piece featured here.

The condition of the medallion is nothing short of aesthetic excellence! Every detail is immaculately preserved and highly distinctive! Near flawless for a medallion that was made more than 60 years ago!

The overall texture is beautifully and evenly scattered with a “Piu Fai” hue and is a stunning piece to behold!

The term “Piu Fah” literally translate to Fire Skin in English.

It is a chemical reaction that occurs when the alloy and the chemicals on the surface of the medallion comes into contact with the atmospheric components in the air which results in an absolutely unique iridescent/rainbow texture.

It is a natural oxidation process that takes decades to occur, and a prime evidence for industry veterans to properly ascertain that it is in the most original condition without signs of wear, damage or any types of human intervention.

Medallions that are worn, damaged, washed or refurbished will not exhibit naturally occurred textures like the item featured today.

Among all of the medallions blessed by Luang Por Ngern of Wat Don Yai Horm, this featured medallion is unanimously known as the most lifelike and beautiful medallion of all.

Known as Roon Sood Tai, or translated to the “Final Batch Medallion”. It was the last medallion to be blessed by Luang Por Ngern.

The medallion was created when the volunteers of the Suksalanukro Nakhon Pathom Foundation seek the permission to raise funds for the operation of refurbishing the cemetery grounds around Wat Don Yai Horm, and Luang Por Ngern agreed to assist in this good cause.

Luang Por Ngern then stated that this would be his final batch of medallions to be made. Temple committee members were caught off guard by what he said, but soon realized the reason. Despite being very much healthy, Luang Por Ngern was said to have known that his time would soon come to an end. He specifically mentioned to the temple committee members and the disciples to make sure that this batch of medallions were properly made. After the creation of the medallions, it was followed by a very grand blessing ceremony presided by Luang Por Ngern and other holy monks.

Luang Por Ngern passed away in Year 2520 B.E., at the age of 86 years old after being a monk for the past 66 years.

This beautiful medallion is in a beautiful and pristine condition! Stunning to say the least with all important features highly distinctive!

Made of silver and it is one of the very rare variants made! An extremely worthwhile piece to be noticed by any discerning individual!
