There are a total of 6 generic variants for the contemporary series:

And what we are showcasing today is the highly sought-after GARUDA variant!

Known in Thai as Phaya Krut, Garuda is one of the most revered mythological beings in Thai Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

Depicted as a magnificent half-human, half-eagle celestial being, Garuda is celebrated for his extraordinary strength, courage and majestic presence.

In traditional mythology, Garuda is the divine mount of Lord Vishnu and is regarded as a powerful symbol of SOVEREIGNTY, AUTHORITY, PROTECTION AND VICTORY OVER ADVERSITY.

Such is Garuda’s significance in Thai culture that his image serves as the national emblem of Thailand and is closely associated with the Thai monarchy and royal authority.

Within traditional Thai amulet beliefs, Garuda is especially revered for qualities associated with POWER, PRESTIGE, LEADERSHIP AND PROTECTION AGAINST NEGATIVE INFLUENCES.

These deeply rooted cultural and spiritual associations have contributed to the enduring appeal of Garuda images among devotees and collectors alike.

One must understand that we are discussing a BAKED CLAY AMULET WITH MORE THAN 100 YEARS OF HISTORY..

Unlike metal medallions, baked-clay amulets are particularly susceptible to wear, with their delicate surfaces and raised features gradually deteriorating through decades of handling.

This is precisely why CONDITION, ORIGINALITY AND THE PRESERVATION OF IMPORTANT MOULD DETAILS are so highly valued by experienced collectors.

And this is where our featured specimen truly shines..

From the distinguishable seated Buddha image to the characteristic two-tier pedestal and the Hanuman figure beneath, the important elements of this celebrated mould remain beautifully visible.

The naturally aged clay surface further adds to its captivating antique character.

Beautifully preserved examples of these century-old classics are becoming increasingly difficult to encounter..

There are countless amulets in the industry, but only a select few have maintained their prestige and recognition across generations.

LUANG POR PARN’S BAKED CLAY AMULETS ARE UNDOUBTEDLY AMONG THEM!

With their unmistakable designs, remarkable historical significance and enduring collector demand, they remain among the most celebrated traditional baked-clay amulets in Thailand.

A legendary creation with more than 100 years of history.

And above all, a beautiful specimen of one of the true classics of Thai amulet collecting!
